I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and I also work as a psychotherapist within the NHS. UKCP is a professional register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA), whose role includes setting standards that support public protection and confidence in health and care psychological professions.

Recent NHS England guidance (August 2026) recognises UKCP-registered psychotherapists as meeting the registration requirements for adult psychotherapist roles within NHS-commissioned healthcare, with psychotherapist registration aligned with SCoPEd Column C. Column C reflects the advanced training at Master level, knowledge, experience and competencies associated with psychotherapy practice.
